Collections

Over the past 10 years we've collected unique and interesting furniture and decor—pieces that beg for an update or a full makeover. We've also been drawn to focused collections: vintage fishing lures, antique wooden spinning tops, and more recently a set of 1960’s Mickey Mouse bowling pins.

There's something quietly compelling about seeing many versions of the same object together. The challenge has always been finding a creative way to display these treasures. We won't just hide them inside a premade cabinet—the display should be as thoughtfully engaging as the objects themselves. For example, our fishing lures that we were lucky enough to get from an auction. They were hung on small nails tacked to paper-covered plywood in perfect rows. They hung that way for decades until we designed a modern solution: a long, slim black frame with airplane wire strung side to side so the hooks hang in precise alignment. Now the lures read like an art installation in our dining room that everyone notices and admires. (It is currently listed in our shop.)

Recently we’ve been working on 15 small mahogany shadow boxes, each fitted with a colored mirrored acrylic backing. Inside every box rests a single articulating sterling silver pendant with inlaid abalone, delicately shaped like a fish. We used a variety of backdrop colors, and each one complements the subtle irradiance of the abalone shells beautifully. Now these mid century modern, fish pendants can be displayed individually or arranged together as a coordinated group for greater visual impact and storytelling. (will be in the shop soon)

Do you have a collection that deserves to be on display? Send us a message — we’re confident we can collaborate to create an engaging and memorable art installation.
